someone else could probably give you better advice than i can, but i'd make sure firefox and flash/silverlight (whichever you use) are both updated (if you haven't done so already). maybe check which add-ons are running in firefox and disable what's unnecessary, or clear your browser history/cache. even scanning with something like malwarebytes, if you'd like to, wouldn't hurt.

here are some additional tips that might help, and this amazon article could be useful

I posted this earlier in the plug thread:

I got this message from Plug does anyone know what it means?

If you are running extensions or scripts, they could be spamming our servers. Please disable them and reach out to the author of that script to have them update their extension.

I found this online about the version MusicBanter is (SEO by vBSEO 3.5.2 ©2010, Crawlability, Inc.) Is MusicBanter vulnerable to remote attackers?

Idk about that stuff you posted but I would do what bulbasaur said in the plug thread and check your web browser extensions to see if there is some conflict going on. I can probably help with that part of it if you can't figure it out on your own but beyond that I have no clue. Sorry bud.

This should do the trick:

Be aware though (as I'm sure you are) that all YouTube videos and the like are in SWF (Shockwave) or FLV (Flash) format, and most DVD players will not recognise them. You'll have to convert them to AVI or MPEG otherwise it's likely your DVD will just say something like "Unsupported format" or maybe not just see them at all.

So I'm having a lot of trouble streaming videos lately. It used to just be Amazon so I figured it must be something to do with them but nope, now it's any streaming anywhere. Hulu doesn't work. Youtube doesn't work. Pandora doesn't work. Plug doesn't work (but when does it ever anyways?). I'm getting frustrated because everything else about my computer is okay. It's a little laggier than normal on regular browsers but nothing extreme. I scanned it recently, no viruses. Cleaned the disks, defragged, etc. It's all gravy baby but that streaming is just a no-go. Anyone have any suggestions or ideas about what could be wrong?

What is the problem with the stream? The video won't play? It keeps pausing to buffer? Usually with streams it's an internet issue more than a computer one.

Both.

But that's the thing though, everything else online is okay. But videos? Constant buffering. Or, it just won't play. Or, it'll play but it'll be super choppy. Or, it'll play the audio but not the video or the video and not the audio or they're slightly out of sync or one's choppy and the other's not. It's entirely frustrating but I think you're right- I've probably just got a crap connection.
