Sneaky Flatmate
 

My flatmate has been sneaking into my partner and I's room and has started using our stuff.

This includes looking up porn on our computer (even though we have put locks and passwords on it) and nearly blowing the speakers on my radio. :nono:

He has been sneaking in when we are not home.

We have tried to speak to him about it but he just does not listen. It just makes him sneakier...

HELP PLEASE!!!

we are at our wits end, and even though we are moving out in three weeks (to a place where it is just my partner and I)

We've had enough and need some fresh ideas.

Any suggestions will be taken into consideration

If he gets through your passwords, then they're in the wrong place. Put one at the windows logon or even in the BIOS at startup although if you do, never forget what it is (when you turn on the computer, press DEL at startup to enter BIOS setup, then look for a password at startup option).

Then you log out or turn off the computer when you're not using it.

That's the thing though, the password on the computer is on the start up. We have no idea how he's working them out, they are not exactly easy or written down anywhere...We've tried a few different passwords but he seems to get pass them.
Yup beating him up does sound like the way at the moment, except being female, younger and smaller then him i think i'd come off second best....lol

Is this some thriller drama? Your "roommate" is what you call your other personality? ;)

If setting a password at startup doesn't work, then either you're not very clever with your passwords or perhaps he resets the BIOS by temporarily removing a battery on the motherboard. Have you tried setting a password at the startup of your operative system (presumably some kind of Windows)?

Nah, my other personalities don't piss me off quite so bad. Umm the passwords have never been easy, nor have i written them down anywhere.
I just need some ideas on how to stop him from coming into my room and how to get back at him.

My point was really that there are technical ways to bypass a BIOS password so you could try setting one at startup in your Windows instead. If you think he's cracking your passwords - which sounds highly unlikely - you could try this : Find a book you like, choose a page and mark it with a bookmark, take the first complete sentence on that page and use that as your password. It will likely be long, sentences are easy to remember and you'll be able to find it should you forget. If you need to change it, flip to the next page and choose a sentence from there instead.

The password would be easy to remember and will be too long to figure out or crack.
