His playing on Dancing in Your Head was one of the things that got me into jazz in the first place. RIP.

Cheick Tiote dead, aged 30. Waiting for BBC/NUFC confirmation but Demba Ba just tweeted it so I'd be surprised if it's not true.

Why does this seem to happen so often with players of African descent?

EDIT: BBC confirm it - Cheick Tiote: Former Newcastle United midfielder dies after collapsing in training - BBC Sport

unbelievable. truly underrated player for his entire career, was a tank in the midfield and made some truly game changing tackles.

Bloody Hell. Footy is getting to be a dangerous sport. Didn't have the greats dying off young in the old days.

If you look at the list of deaths while playing in a match, numerous Africans collapsing of heart problems. Obviously there was Muamba a few years ago who nearly died.

I wonder what's going on.
