Just write about what you know. You should write about a movie theatre manager who fetishizes films and jacks off in the projector room. Say it's a metaphor for the sexual misconduct in Hollywood for arty cred.

Tell it from the perspective of a record store owner who keeps finding his shop broken into and that the spindle holes in a lot of his records are now dick-sized. Make it a mystery where he has to figure out which of his customers is doing it, and are they screwing records that they like or ones that they don't like. There's a lot of opportunity there. You could even write about a human record player.
