What happens when a self-driving vehicle hits a patch of ice? How does it react? You can't just lock the brakes, everyone knows that.

It’ll be programmed to detect when it hits ice and react in the statistically safest manner. It will also readjust to the quickly changing inputs far quicker than any human being could. Furthermore, it won’t panic.

Unless the designers decide that it would appear more relatable if it did, and build in a PANIC feature!

I can't wait to have a city with self driving taxis, provided that

-The saved driver's wage goes all to my pocket.
-I do ever have a taxi readily available to be called over Internet.
-The cars are clean and well maintained.
