Abba - Thank you for the Music - Lyrics Meaning

Thank You for the Music" was the twenty-sixth and final UK single for Swedish pop group ABBA, released as a single in November 1983 after the group had unofficially disbanded in order to promote their compilation album "Thank You for the Music".

"Thank You for the Music" was actually recorded in 1977, at the height of the group's success and popularity and featured on the groups "The Album" LP.

It was a combination of two factors that probably made this song so popular and significant to Abba followers throughout the World. Firstly it was released as a single in the wake of the group's break up and most importantly because it mirrored the style made popular when Abba were at their peak, much lighter than their latter works.

Agnetha F„ltskog (The Girl with Golden Hair) produced an unforgettable performance on lead vocal, with fellow group members Anni-Frid Lyngstad and songwriters Bj”rn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson joining in on the chorus.

The song relates how Agnetha feels to have been gifted with a talent for music and wants to share it with her audience. The famous line from this song, and among the most well known and loved in the group's history is.

"I've been so lucky, I am the girl with golden hair"
