The Age of Aquarius is frequently used to refer to the 1960's and 1970's when the hippie counterculture was active. The Vietnam War was going on and president John F Kennedy had been assassinated. The world seemed a chaotic place and people were looking forward to a time of peace and happiness. The song Aquarius/Let the Sun Shine In illustrated what the world was yearning for. To people who follow astology, it seemed that the planets ``weren't in alignment'' and that there was a lot wrong with the world because of this. Actually, the moon in the seventh house and Jupiter aligning with Mars is a poetic license. These are not necessarily uncommon events.
