Sometimes simple dread and suspense can beat creativity and uniqueness.

I wish Zodiac was 10 hours long.

Could have benefited from more of the latter though.

I'm not trying to tell you your opinion is wrong by showing you these. Just trying to highlight why Fincher films, Zodiac in particular, are/is not cookie cutter or run of the mill.

Closer to it than usual for Fincher was my point. It was only a half point deduction so it doesn't exactly affect my love of the film.

sorry man...i missed this

Alien: Covenant

i saw this at the pre opening on Thursday with another huge fan of the series and someone who had not even seen Prometheus

i'm a little late on this but have been waiting for someone to talk with about it....thanks DJ

so here were my emotions

Before film
Beyond excited

After film
good movie but very underwhelmed (hated the cgi)

after talk with person who had not seen Prometheus (she was completely lost)
Very good film still a little let down (still hated the cgi)

after sleeping on it
i went into this all wrong....it's actually an incredible film and i;m still a little let down due to what the preview portrayed (i still hated the cgi)

i need to see it again going in thinking this is a direct sequel to Prometheus and only the beginning of connecting it to Alien

there is a cgi scene that makes me think Ridley Scott may be suffering for early onset Alzheimer disease and forgot he was an amazing director the day he allowed that shit into his film

I happened to do the same thing. I went with my gf and she didn't see Prometheus. So I was explaining a few things along the way then I just told her to wait til after the movie for a proper explanation from me.

Spoiler for deets:
So, did you find it ironic that the creators that made the spore virus to kill all human life so they can start from scratch end up dying from the same virus. I was wondering if I remembered Prometheus wrong. Maybe I do need to re-watch it.

Spoiler for your face:
Shay says at the end of Prometheus that they are going to the creators home world....it's Davis that takes the step to commit genocide....the villain has definitely been turn from the Xenomorph to David....i'm really looking forward to the next film
