Just got Duckman season 1 & 2 on DVD so I'm looking forward to revisiting this series.

I'm currently obsessing over the second season of Boardwalk Empire. I think it's pretty much the best show on tv right now.

Oh man I haven't even thought about Duckman in years! Such a great show.

I've just started this season and it definitely really builds on what the first season started.

I just got caught up on this seasons Walking Dead and the writers should be commended for managing to turn a zombie apocalypse into a goddamn boring soap opera, that takes some real effort. This plot with the little girl was played out 4 episodes ago and is now just a plot device to keep them in one location. I can't help but think the writers have missed the point of why people watch zombie movies and play zombie games, it's not to take every day issues and exacerbate them with the threat of cannibalism, it's to attach sharp things to other sharp things and then bash a zombies head in. If you're bringing emotion into the whole thing it needs to be something relateable to the circumstances, like realizing how fast and easy it is to revert back to barbaric ways, and while they're kind of acknowledging it, they're doing it in a very coy way. So yeah... I'll watch the next episode, but unless it blows my mind I don't think I'll pick it up after the mid-season break.

Veronica Mars

Out of all the tv shows that I watched, I am going to miss this one the most.

If you haven't watched this you definitely should. They put two people into a fake reality TV show similar to the Bachelor and have a bunch of crazy characters and situations without revealing that the whole thing is fake. Situations include the host and a contestant having an affair and all of the minorities being voted off first.

I have given up the ghost regarding The Walking Dead and cancelled the PVR regarding any future episodes. I have really, really tried but season 2 is even worse than the first.

It's not the production, acting or effects it's the fact that we are now 5 episodes into season 2 and the series has not developed one iota. Sure there are small 'soap opera' moments happening but no twists, no dramatic set pieces; anything to make me sit back and say 'wow, this is so different from the multitude of Zombie media out there'.

I will say it again: it's a soap opera with a couple of zombies in it now and again. Damn bloody shame.

I agree 100% jackhammer, the series has completely lost all interest to me because of this season. I gave the first season the benefit of the doubt because very few shows have stellar moments in the first season, and was anticipating the second season to blow me away. Besides the better than average first episode, the show really managed to devolve in a way I didn't think possible with the last six. To put it bluntly... the show is boring. How one makes a show about a zombie apocalypse boring is beyond me but the writers found a way. I guess it's like you said, it's a soap opera that happens to contain zombies in it, kind of like that novel Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. The zombies don't really add anything to the plot, but if you put the word "zombie" in the title, people will buy it regardless of quality.

It is very soap opera-ish, but I think it's also a damn good show, and the word zombie hasn't been mentioned once throughout either season. Sunday night's episode really brought the current stagnant predicament to a very interesting climax. I'm quite impatiently waiting for next week's episode.
