Default Movie Recommendation Thread

This will not be a place to list your favorite movies or about new movies coming out. The point will be to recommend movies that you think other people may like. Any genre is ok, and posting any amount of movies is also ok.

Just make sure you post a picture of the cover as well as a sentence about the genre and basic description. And last dont forget there YEAR!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'll start with Alien Raiders(2008)

Just recently saw this and thought it was great. A bit low budget, but that's not what makes a film good or bad. Its your typical sci-fi plot, but with some great filming and creative aliens. If your into this type of action/alien movie then you will definitely like this.

------

Reservoir Dogs (1992)

One of the best movies of the 90's. Written and directed by Quentin Tarantino, one of the best in the business. Great cast including QT, Harvey Keitel, Tim Roth, and Steve Buscemi. A simple heist goes wrong in the action thriller.

It's got martial arts, zombies, gun play and gangsters. What more do you want? It's subtitled though so any lazy feckers should avoid

A Clockwork Orange features disturbing, violent imagery to facilitate social commentary on psychiatry, youth gangs, and other topics in a futuristic dystopian Britain.

This is a must see film from Stanley Kubrick even though the novel is slightly more disturbing than the film, it's still worth checking out.

Jet Li's Fearless (2006)

An awesome film loosly based on the life of Chinese fighter Huo Yuanjia, and also Jet Li's last wushu epic. Themes like honor, pride, and friendship are looked at and dealt with beautifully and painfully here, and of course there are the kick ass martial arts. This will always be at the top of my fave movies list! I recommend watching with subtitles.

Still into my pile to watch. Have you seen Unleashed by any chance? A great Jet li film if slightly disjointed. Hero is bloody amazing.

Yes, I've seen Unleashed. It is a great movie. And Hero...well...it's right up there with Fearless. I absolutely love Hero! I thought it was so artistic and almost poetic. It mesmerizes me.

Also, I recommend this movie: Fist of Legend (1994)

Also starring Jet Li, and also touching on the life of Huo Yuanjia, only this time Li plays a student of Yuanjia who returns to China from Japan to avenge this master's death. A must see.

Th guy who done the cinematography in that film (Hero) also did the cinematography for The Three Burials Of Melquiades Estrada. He has an exquiste eye.

If you have an interest in football hooliganism violence this is for you, you think Elijah Wood was hard in "Green Street Hooligans" this one will change your mind.

Elijah Wood was a pussy in Green street. Rise is a damn good film but THE football hooligan film is still this:
