Default Tonight Show w/ Jimmy Fallon: thoughts?

Really surprised there isn't a thread about this already... Anyone been watching it? I think the first show was kind of a letdown because of the douchey people he had on (Will Smith and U2) but Jimmy's been killing it since then. His style seems to bring out the best in his guests. I could definitely see him hosting for a couple of decades and becoming a sort of American icon like Carson was. What do you guys think?

With all respect, kh, I utterly hate Fallon. He never makes me laugh.

i havent seen the new show yet but lemme drop some general thoughts

i think fallon is an exceptional talent with a really unique skill set... crazy energy and enthusiasm, can write and also perform in skits, can sing to some degree, does impressions, interviews, etc...... dude just does it all. hall of fame snl cast member for sure, i loved his work there and he was great on the weekdn update

i did really like his late nite show but havent been watchin late nite in awhile. im not optimistic about seth meyers on late nite tho, he has a lot of similar qualities as fallon but i dont think hes as funny on screen, hes more of a writer. but cool move gettin fred armisen to be the band drummer

jimmy had a fun show, i didnt see or read if the format was gonna change much now that hes moved time slots but i hope it doesnt. i will always prefer kimmel as my go-to late nite guy but fallon is clearly second. i can see fallon bein really succesful for a long time

I always despised Jimmy Fallon. That part on Family Guy where Peter kicks his ass after he sleeps with Meg and then asks "Now where's the bastard who slept with my daughter?" made my decade. He's better on his show though. I'm not crazy about him or anything, but he's much better in a more improv setting than he is on a scripted show like SNL. Sort of like Conan. Except not nearly as magnificent.

In general I could give a **** about anyone in general replacing Jay Leno, but Jay's Headlines segment killed me every time and now I'll never see that again. So **** Jimmy Fallon.

This doesn't need a thread but Seth Meyers is rocking his new spot though.

Also if you think that Will Smith is a douche then you need Jesus.

Yeah, Kanye on Seth Myers was really enjoyable. A difficult guest to do right and he smashed it to be honest.

I really like that Seth Meyers doesn't dumb down his humor. He had jokes about Venn Diagrams and all of his political humor is usually pretty hilarious.

I do like Seth, he was the only reason I watched SNL after Andy Samberg left. I will check it out if and when I'm up at that hour

i listened to seth meyers on howard stern a few days before he started. he seemed excited and a little nervous since its such a different format for him. i respect seth as a writer but he sucked on the weekend update on snl compared to when fallon did it
