Gimme a break, I'd had a 12 pack. It's amazing I was even able to put two or more cohesive phrases together.

Right now, console games are a little less work to get the hang of for me. ASWZ is a little more cumbersome than having an XBox controller. I'm used to those, and adding peripherals to a PC is a pain.
Oh man, you had a Commodore? I hear those things were fun, but super finicky.

Never played Wolfenstein, but Q*Bert was the shit. My dad used to take me to an arcade that had a Q*Bert machine.

I didn't really notice any finicky behavior, but it was cumbersome to work with. My first program was a sprite that looped across the screen. It took me two weeks to write/debug that. I think it might have only been 300 lines of code, and I even had my cousin help since she was a better at typing, but it was the most glorious thing I had ever done up to that point.

Seeing Q*Bert in Wreck-It Ralph brought out the nostalgia feels.

I never really played Q*Bert but I knew of it. Now Wolfenstein, Doom and Duke Nukem were my jams back in the day. It's a shame, I have come to hate FPS when those three got so many hours out of me back then.

I'm stupidly picky about FPS and much prefer 3PS. Goldeneye and Perfect Dark were two that I let slide. Who didn't enjoy peeking on your friends screen in Goldeneye to find out where he was located and capping him.

As far as I'm concerned people bitching about you looking over at their screen were just whiny, sore losers. It's right there, six inches to the left/right, idiots!

Exactly!

As far as RE games go. My fave has to be 2. I remember seeing my friend play it and the initial dog encounter that crashes through the window scared me so badly.

I really enjoyed RE 6 though, I loved the way that it paid homage to RE 1, 2 and 3.

I dig 6 too, and 5 for that matter. Granted, they were my first RE games, as I never had a Playstation back in the day, but they're really good 3PS's. Maybe they're not scary, but if you take them for what they are they're a ****load of fun.

Two weeks to animate a sprite... I don't think I'd have the patience for that.

Man, Goldeneye was magnificent. I don't think I've ever laughed as hard in my life as I did whenever someone would slide around on their knees and chop everyone in sight.

I agree. I think hardcore RE fans are way too hard on 5 and 6. Even though there's plenty of goofy shit (Chris punching the boulder in the final battle of 5 comes to mind), the older games had goofy shit too (the intro and voice acting in the first game, for example). They might not be the best survival horror games, but they're fine action games. And the co-op in 5 was fucking awesome.

My favorite was using remote-controlled mines as grenades. And by "favorite" I mean I hated those people.

Remember all of the secret modes you could unlock? Even though it seems stupid in hindsight, I thought the DK mode was like the funniest shit ever when I was a kid.
