Default Jackhammer's A-Z genre journey

O.K. As most regulars know, I listen to a big array of genres, so I am going to go through as many musical genres as I can possibly stand. Because of pure laziness I am going to use Wikipedias genre list. I state the genre. You recommend an artist and I will review it. Who knows we might all find some gems along the way! There are some hilarious sounding genres, so it's gonna be a bumpy ride!
List of styles of music: A-F - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Some of these genres will be very difficult to find.

Todays genre: ABORIGINAL ROCK

Beginning with YOTHU YINDI.

Yothu Yindi-A Tribal Voice

The album does what it says on the tin. It's fairly generic pop/rock punctuated by clapsticks and the didgeridoo. There are a few 90 second interlude tracks featuring aboriginal chanting. While the album was fairly easy on the ear, it was quite unspectacular and unmemorable.

NEXT: ABSTRACT HIP HOP

Recommendations? pm's?

This is gonna be quite the journey..are you only choosing a few genres from each letter. Because otherwise, your son will be in University by the time you're done.

I'm going for genres that are fairly accessible on the net, but I'm going to do as many different genres as I can even though I know i hate some of them!

Congrats on the modding Scott and recommend me something now!

Kind of a silly genre name, but I think these groups fall under it according to wikipedia's description, so pick one...

Deep Puddle Dynamics - The Taste Of Rain...Why Kneel?

Subtle - For Hero: For Fool

Sole And The Skyrider Band - Sole And The Skyrider Band

Shape Of Broad Minds - Craft Of The Lost Art

This is a bit off-topic now that you've done it, but I know I have some didgeridoo based electronica tracks somewhere.

Anyway, this is a great idea. I'm looking forward to reading more. At least you've heard a lot of electronica already, because I'm guessing that's where most of the subgenres will come from.

Neat. There's some really good stuff on it, but not everyone likes the style of the emcees.

DEEP PUDDLE DYNAMICS-THE TASTE OF RAIN...WHY KNEEL?

Well it's not very dynamic! There are some interesting samples and loops on the album and it is refreshingly different to mainstream rap, but the emcees are not the best and I can't remember any of the tracks even after 2 listens. However it is a keeper and warrants a few more listens.

Next is ACID HOUSE or ACID JAZZ, whatever reco I get first.

I'm not good at identifying music I listen to by genre, but according to Wikipedia some stuff I like falls under the category of acid jazz so I'll recommend a few from there...

Herbert - Scale

Quantic - An Announcement To Answer

Bonobo - Days To Come

Amon Tobin - Foley Room

If I had to pick one of those it would be Bonobo, but it's up to you so whatever.
