Some good albums so far, i'll be interested to see whats near the top, knowing Pitchfork it won't be the most obvious choices...

Wrong. Every single one of these indie/alternative lists is pretty much the same list but rearranged in a different order. The Pitchfork ones in particular are themselves not really surprising at all, with the only (IMO) slightly surprising choice being the #1 choice for the 1970s.

Do you ever have anything nice to say?

And don't get mad at me for asking, it's on all of our minds.

They said The Fall's This Nations Saving Grace was the best album of the 80s not so long ago. Don't know if it was this list or a different one.

Must be a different one. That album appears 13th on Pitchfork's official 80s.

The Pitchfork lists are always pretty good, loathe as I am to admit. 'King's Lead Hat' is an anagram of 'Talking Heads', incidentally. *Ahem*

I don't think I was saying anything in opposition to "nice". I was just saying that, from my own experience, there doesn't seem much surprising on those Pitchfork lists aside from the #1 pick for 70s, which is just plain bullsh1t and a load of nonsense.

Various Artist's album on a top album list?? Only amateurs do that.
