Kanye West Month (April/May 2017)

Y'know what? I'm starting this **** early. I don't give a ****. Welcome to Kanye West Month. What is Kanye West month you may ask? Well, for the entire month of May (and of course due to my impatience the end of April), the posts in this thread will be specifically about Kanye West. This means I'll be talking about albums, lyrics, videos, personal life, everything. If I were to say anything about 2016 and 2017 so far, it's that it has allowed me to become completely obsessed with Kanye's music. I can't even believe some of the absurdity that goes into these albums, and simultaneously some absolutely fantastic tracks. Speaking of which, I'm going to use this introduction to segway into the first part of Kanye West Month. But, you'll have to go to the next post talking about...

808's & Heartbreak.

So as you saw in the previous post, we're going to talk about perhaps my now favorite Kanye West album of all time (previously filled by The Life of Pablo) but it always changes.

808's & Heartbreak

Now, aside from the amazing collabs on some tracks like Kid Cudi and Lil Wayne, this entire album is full of full on fantastic Kanye tracks. You'll obviously know the ones like Heartless and perhaps Welcome To Heartbreak, but there is just so much in this album to love. The lyrics are beautifully written, and the beats throughout are very well done and add that necessary touch to the album. I honestly don't know what Kanye was doing at this time, or where he was at in life, but I would love nothing more than to hear an 808's & Heartbreak numero dos.

It's no mystery. I absolutely love The Life of Pablo. It's one of those albums that seems to either do really well with the fanbase, or really badly. Sort of how DAMN. is doing. Anyway, I've said it a few times that I would put The Life of Pablo at my number one spot for a Kanye West album, but obviously 808's & Heartbreak has taken that spot now. Don't blame me, blame the fact that Kanye makes music that makes it difficult to put at your number one spot. I mention this solely because the standout track for me on The Life of Pablo would have to be:

Sun don't shine in the shade (turn me up!)
Bird can't fly in a cage (turn me up!)
Even when somebody go away (turn me up!)
The feelings don't really go away
That's just the wave (yeah)

I know you may think I'm being funny by mentioning The Life of Pablo but I assure you, I am not. I find the absolute "out there" concept and the complete absurdity to be an enormous positive. And of course, who else could do it but Kanye.
