28 year old "untitled" song. (blues, bass, member, Hang)

Hi guys.
For 28 years (give or take) Ive been remembering the music to a blues song I heard only once on the radio. It was kind of slow. A work of the seventies. A heavy bass was present all through the song. Maybe 4 or 5 guys were singing it. Real nice voice acrobatics, and harmonies. Sorta like in minor key. The chorus was repetitive so it kinda stuck in my mind, and said something like...

" Do what you wanna do, what you wanna do,
what you wanna do, What you wanna do, what
you wanna do...

Just (or "But") be what you want.
(Note:That used to be a long "waaaaaaant")
Be what you want.

Then it went back to the main songlines sayin' something about "Do you believe..." la da da da and... "is that what's real?" and "Hey you..." something , something about "Chicago blues... "'s 'at what you feel?"

Oh, and then it said something like "you can change, you can change, you can change" and then moved on to the chorus again.

Hey, I know this sounds ridiculous, but it's all i've got of the song; and I finally seem to have found a place where they can help me.

Pleeeease guys, If any of you can make something out of this mush, I'll be most thankful.
