90's one hit wonder (lyrics, one-hit wonder, one-hit, cover, quote)

Ok.
Because MIsfits thread reminded me of some music from my young'un days.
I have a question.
Please Help Me.

It is one of those 90s One Hit Wonders

It is a song based off a true story about these old people, and they lived in arizona or somewhere like that.
And they were invited to a party, so they went, but they never came back. And they just disappeared, they had a missing persons report filed but they never founs them or their bodies.

You really wouldnt be able to tell what the song was about to that level if you just listened to the lyrics(which I cant think of)

A very small segment of the lyrics are

"???? they started walking"

Someone has to know this

May be wrong - but I think you're thinking of the song "The Way" by Fastball.

sounds like it fits your description.

Definitely Fastball - The Way. Although I must say Fastball isn't a one-hit wonder, they scored another hit with "Out of My Head".
