need some help please (music video, member, title, artist, song)

i need some help with the title/artist of this song, but its gona be a challenge

the only thing i can remember is from the music video, and its kinda going through the story of this kids life. him and his girlfriend, his parents fighting, almost drowning. then when the song reaches its high point he holds his girlfriends hand for the first time, gets up and walks out on his parents, and breathes in after almost drowning. (there is more, i just cant remember). it was popular like last year or the year before so its fairly recent

its kind of a softer, more emotional song
