Help me find a song... (metal, rock, fan, metallica)

Sorry, I can only think up a vague description, but here it is:

It's a relatively slow/somber song by a band that is normally hard rock or metal. It's relatively well-known, because I remember seeing a discussion about it on another board. I saw a video of a live performance of it, and I was blown away especially because it was I band I usually don't listen to.

Yeah, my memory sucks and I forget what band/song it is. So anyone have any wild guesses?

that could be aaanything, from Fade to Black to Planet Caravan or something.
You can't remember anything else about it?

Well, I'm a big fan of classic rock and early metal, etc. It's definitely not Metallica or Black Sabbath. It's someone I normally wouldn't listen to, like Avenged Sevenfold or Corrosion of Conformity or something like that. But I guess it's in the same vein as Fade to Black. And for some reason Social Distortion comes to mind, do they have a song like that?

The sad thing is, I think I might have this song on my computer...
