Some songs to Name (Links to small samples provided) (tunes, classic)

Hi,

I would greatly appreciate it if someone could name these tunes for me.

The first one is just the first 15s of the song. The rest of it sounds pretty much the same. The quality of this one is terrible (Ex-Radio.) It's 1997 vintage or earlier

The second is from a TV advertisement that airs here in New Zealand. It is possible that this classical sounding piece was specially written for the add. The dialogue is a little distracting.

Tried emailing Mainland but it bounced + there's now a reason why I don't want them to know about it. ;-)
