Looking for the name of band (lyrics, albums, member, title)

everyone! I'm looking for the name of a band from the USA that existed during the early 90's. They only released one album, which was self-titled (I think that it might have even be the name of the album but not completely sure). I don't remember the name of any of the songs. BUT the band had a sound which was like that of Mogwai's first albums, i.e no lyrics, only instruments. I don't think they might have been shoegazers, and the band's album had around 8 songs.

Ugh, I know it's not much, but I really don't remember anything else. It's quite annoying because this band was great and I used to love it! I just don't understand how I could forget the name, and can't even find the CD. I know they were not that famous, there's only one person I know who knows about them (being him the one that introduce me to them), and I can't ask him as he's gone AWOL.

I would really appreciate your help, as this matter is driving me a bit nuts. And sorry if I posted this in the wrong section!
