Ok all you music philes.....

help this poor loser.

I can only describe the video for this song I'm dying to find. It's soul--a young white guy singing. In the video, which was popular probably years ago (I'm making this hard!) a guy walks up to a club carrying his guitar. There's a chalkboard outside. He goes in, and no one is in the club. He's wearing a hat. He starts to play, and as the song goes on,the club fills up, and then a whole band of him plays----he sings, plays guitar, hits the drums, plays the bass. And it's this excellent groove song.....sooooo nice. Then when he stops playing, the club is empty again, and it's just him on stage. And I think when he leaves, his name's erased from the chalkboard outside.

Does this sound familiar???? I loved the song when I heard it but never got the name of the musician. And now I'm having a Halloween party, and I want the song in our mix!! If any of this makes sense, i would love to hear the ideas of you experts.
