Talking SOLVED by nonsubmissivewife!! Who sings "It's a beautiful life"?

No, it's not Ace of Base; I only saw a few seconds of the video, but it was definitely a man singing (a YOUNG man, not Kenny Rogers). The one clear line I heard was "It's a beau-ti-ful LIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIFE," and since it was sung somewhat slowly and with emphasis I've assumed it was the title of the song. From the look and sound of it, I'd guess that this was an alternative rock band, and the singer had a better-than-average voice... I think he had dark hair and a guitar.

I've searched on Google and YouTube, and none of the bands/singers that come up for this line are the right one; does anyone know what band this is?

Thanks!!

That was a new one on me, so I checked him out; he's nowhere near being a rock musician, though, he's sort of like Tony Bennett.

Thanks for trying to help!!

The first one that came to mind was Edwin McCain's song "Beautiful Life". It's not a slow song, but it's not a very fast one either. I could only find a live version of it online, check out the link below to see:

YouTube - Edwin McCain - Beautiful Life

If it's not the one you're looking for, maybe you could give a little more description about the video you saw. For example, was it a music video or a live performance, what channel/website did you see it on, and was anything else going on in the video?

Thanks for the lead!!

Unfortunately, that's not the same song.

I only saw a few seconds of the video, and wasn't paying particular attention at the time, so I've already told you all I know about it; just a vague impression of a young man who might or might not have dark hair, and might or might not have been playing guitar... he could have been anywhere with anything going on around him.

I don't remember where I saw it... I wish I did, since that'd make it easy to find it again.

If it had been anything other than a modern, professionally-shot video, THAT I probably would have noticed... but if this is a current, signed band, why can't I find any reference to them anywhere?
