I caught brief glimpses of a music video on a TV channel recently. The song in the video is of interest.
Song genre was something like folk-rock, light-rock or similar(?) At the end of the video, the group name and song title were shown briefly, but I only caught a glimpse of it. I think the song title was something like "Llewelyn". Not sure about the name of the group. The group comprised 4 or 5 male members. I've never seen this band before; they may be a new group(?). Three of the group members I recall seeing all had very short hair, and were aged about the late 20's or early 30's. The lead vocalist had dark hair, a dark beard (3 or 4" long) and a moustache. He resembles Vincent Dinofrio, the actor in 'Law & Order: Criminal Intent' TV series. The lead vocalist also played an electric guitar. At one stage in the video he was semi-dancing about in a wooded area (I think) surrounded by mist/fog. He often repeated the lyrics ". . follow me, follow me, follow me . ." during the (end of the) song. Another group member was another (electric) guitarist who had light colored hair, short (1~2" long) beard and moustache. The keyboardist was dark haired and clean shaven. Not sure about the description of the drummer, and if there was another guitarist? At one stage the group were playing within a smallish room. The video appeared to be very very slighty "grainy" or old looking, which may be an intentional effect. Or maybe the video was an old one?? I contacted the TV station regarding this music video, but they did not respond. I have tried searching on Google and allmusic for the song named "Llewelyn" (and also for "follow me"), but I have not matched the song to the groups' members description so far. Maybe this is a very new group, so they may not as yet be listed on search engines(?) I would like to know who the group is and confirm the name of the song. Does anyone have any idea who the group may be (and the title of the song) please? Any help would be most appreciated! EDIT: Revised and updated information, and bumped (sorry if bumping post is not appropriate). Last edited by meeshu; 09-03-2008 at 08:53 PM. Reason: Minor additions |

I only caught a brief part of the video, but the music sounded a bit like folk rock or light rock?
Also, I think the spelling was Llewelyn (3 letter l's) and not Llewellyn (4 letter l's). But I'm not completely sure about that. |

Well have a search yourself and see what you find...
allmusic A bearded Vincent Dinofrio sounds a bit like Devendra Banhart though, maybe...if he's very hairy. |

Yes, I've had a (quick) look at allmusic, and I haven't as yet found what I'm after.
I don't think it was Devendra Banhart (had a quick look at a photo at Wikipedia). Thanks anyway. I believe the group members all had short/very short hair; much shorter hair than Devendra Banhart. The lead vocalist had a longer/bushier beard than Devendra Banhart. EDIT: On further investigation, it seems most likely that "llewelyn" (or similar name) is the song title rather than the name of the group. Last edited by meeshu; 08-28-2008 at 08:16 AM. |
