I'm admittedly not really an Ayreon fan; I tried to get into them but they ended up just not really being my sort of thing. After being constantly encouraged to listen to The Human Equation though, it quickly became an album I loved. Arjen is definitely a unique musician and extremely innovative in his ways. His dedication to everything he does really shines.

Since I liked The Human Equation so much, I decided I'd give this a listen, especially since it had the inclusion of Daniel Gildenlow, one of my favourite vocalists. Unfortunately after listening through, I found myself encountering the same problem as I had with older Ayreon albums: there were some very exciting bits which I really liked, but plenty which just didn't really appeal to me.

Though I don't like it, I definitely appreciate it for what it is. Once more, Arjen has created an innovative album with an imaginative concept and a great list of cameos from the progressive rock / metal world.

I will hold off on my opinion on this album because I havent heard it yet, but I do agree that THE cannot be beat.
