My first impression is that it's pretty good, although as far as the style goes, it sounds pretty much like every other Timbaland/The Neptunes produced album...I guess she's sorta given up on reinventing herself...:\

Some of this album would've sounded slightly fresher if Justin Timberlake, The Pussycat Dolls, etc all hadn't done the Timbaland producer thing before and if Timbaland's sound wasn't so repetitive. Frankly I had enough of it last year and everyone raving over him made it worse. I think if she'd pulled out some new obscure producer she could've done something much better, I vote average which is liable to change to poor if this ends up getting shoved down my throat which it probably will.

I think the choice of Timbaland was a clever move on her part. She knows that Timbaland production sells records & that's what Madonna is about really.
Also, I personally think Timbaland is good at what he does, I think the only part of his production which makes him reptitive, is his constant use of Timberlake for cameo roles. Madonna isn't trying to set trends anymore, she is just keeping up with them.
Although saying this, I think it would have been interesting if she had got Dangermouse in.

I thought the album was average. I only liked two tracks really which are the ones that stood out. After that, everything started to sound the same. She needs to go outside the bubble and take a risk with something refreshing not the same old, same old.

Her new material is meh. I love classic Madonna. Not so much new Madonna but she still does come out with some awesome songs.
