Default Counting Crows

I noticed there wasn't a thread on them, so i decided to make one. They've been one of my favorite bands for years now, and they have some of the best lyrics I've ever heard. anyone else into this band?

Honestly I think they're terrible.

I think they are too under rated. CC makes great music, and its Folk Rock, but some of those songs will go down in the oft-talked about, never created Great American Songbook.

Mr. Jones
Hanging Around

Yes there pop but those songs will never be old. 50 years from now if someone plays one on a guitar in a coffee shop, young kids will think "that song kicks ass." The begining and end is, even though some of their songs aren't destined for eternal greatness, they will always be great music. Ms. Potters Lullaby is probably one of their best songs, its hard to get into because of its length, but do yourself a favor and try it out.

I think round here is probably my favorite song, although hanging around and mr. jones are up there. colorblind is an amazing song too, I think you'd be really hardpressed to find another band that continually puts out lyrics that measure up to theirs, there are some, but not many. pure genious in my opinion.

Colorblind might be one of the few soundtrack released songs that didn't completly suck, along with Smashing Pumpkin's Eye and RATM's No Shelter

They've certainly remained realtivly independant from the mainstream ideal of what a pop act should be. Their strongests point would have to be their lyrics and they ability to tackle a wide arrangement of instrumentation.

They are genre-less as well which I think allows them to channel the muse alot better than some bands who are always looking for the dollar signs.

they are talented! their songs evoke a strong sense of nostalgia... somehow

funny how the first time i took notice of them it was because my church leader misread the band name as casting crowns when we went to hmv to music-shop :3.

I absolutely love the Counting Crows and the main reason is the lyrics. I believe that Adam Duritz is one of the most tortured people on earth besides trent reznor and anyone listening to Kevin Federline!
