That's defiantly one of his best singles skaltezon, and one of my favorite songs by Redding as well.

This is a personal favorite by Otis Redding also, More Than Words Can Say..

..I like the singles "That's How Strong My Love Is" and "Just One More Day" too.

The Beatles - "I Want To Hold Your Hand" (1964)
...followed by an old Lipton Instant Tea commercial served up by perky wifey in kitchen.

Probably the first Beatles song I heard as a child, I always liked "I Want To Hold Your Hand" because of its sweetness and buoyancy. The song manages to be simple and profound at the same time as it describes "that something." It shows how easy and straight-forward love can feel.

The song also suggests the power of the emotion that makes you want to hold someone's hand: the simple urge for closeness with someone you love and with whom you feel happiness when she or he is near can result in lifelong effects. I think that is one reason the song has so many screaming, adoring fans:

The Beatles - "I Will"

Another sweet and simple Beatles love song that I like.

The lyrics are a little non-sensical...how could the protagonist/singer not have learned the beloved's name??...and that makes the relationship sound rather trivial plus suggests they wrote the lyrics partly for the rhyme, rather than primarily for the meaning.

Other than that, the song has very sweet sentiments, even though they broke the Cardinal Songwriting Rule: "Never rhyme 'heart' with 'apart.'" I like the fun horse clippety-cloppety percussion sound that sneaks in beginning around 1:00 in the song and gets stronger and stronger toward the end.

Elvis - "Love me Tender"

This was one of the first love ballads I heard while growing up and to this day I find it very sweet and moving.

From the movie "Love Me Tender" (which I've never watched) starring the beautiful Debra Paget and Elvis:

Duncan Dhu: A tientas ("Groping About").

"Pienso en otoños que ya fueron, ................................ I think of past autumns,
pienso en inviernos que volvieron. ................................ I think of winters that came back.
Sin ti no es igual. ................................ Without you, it's not the same.

Busqué en tus ojos mi destierro, ................................ I looked for my exile into your eyes,

sigo tus pasos, voy a tientas. ................................ I follow your footsteps, I'm groping about.
Dí: ¿a dónde van? ................................ Tell me: where do they go to?

Quise llorar ................................ I wanted to cry

por tí y por mí ................................ for you and me
un día más. ................................ one more day.

La Luna esconde su mirada y yo... ................................ The Moon hides her glance and I...

...yo quiero conquistarla. ................................ ...I want to win her heart.
Ya ves, todo sigue igual. ................................ As you see, everything remains the same.

Un llanto lento, un llanto amargo, ................................ A low crying, a bitter crying,

un llanto, al fin, desesperado, y yo... ................................ a desperate crying at last, and I...
...yo aún no sé llorar. ................................ ...I still can't cry.

Y quise soñar ................................ And I wanted to dream

por ti y por mí ................................ for you and me
un día más. ................................ one more day.

Y no me asusta gritar ................................ And I'm not afraid to cry out

tu nombre en la oscuridad ................................ your name in the dark
en este exilio que ................................ in this exile that
me has obligado a compartir. ................................ you've made me share.

Es como un filo de navaja ................................ Like a knife edge:

este camino que ahora sigo, amor, ................................ thus is the way I follow now, sweetheart,
no volveré. ................................ I won't come back.

Y quise llorar ................................ And I wanted to cry

por tí y por mí ................................ for you and me
un día más. ................................ one more day.

Quise soñar ................................ I wanted to dream

por tí y por mí ................................ for you and me
un día más. ................................ one more day.
