They're all deserving, I guess. I wouldn't mind reviewing Gong, Bacamarte, Harmonium or Samla Mammas Manna at least!

It's been a while. If someone's pulling hairs out in desperation because King Crimson's debut is not included, fear not. It's on my to-do list where it's been for many months actually, but I'll do a write up real soon (that's what the placeholder post is for, sorta). My MB break is coming to an end and hopefully then, I can get some opinions from Comus, Boo and Antspants so that it's in style with the other recommendations.

I'm not sure if anyone ever read this thread anymore, but I've taken one of the placeholders and turned it into an honourable mentions post containing more albums beyond the ones mentioned.

Anteater, if you'd like, we can do comments for those as well. Just PM me

I must insist that many music groups mentioned here have brilliant work. But also that many of the individual pieces of music people point out might not really dig into the first-time listener enough to make them listen again. For instance, Wish You Were Here is an alright Floyd song - but I had heard that on the radio since childhood and it has none of the serious upper-level mysticism in songs like Echoes or Dogs. Had I heard either of those I would have fallen in love immediately. That is one of many examples.
