The Sex Pistols just can't hold a candle to the Ramones in the area of punk music. I think must musicians have recognized this, The Casualties, Sonic Youth, Metallica, Husker Du, and Bad Religion (i'm sure there are more but i'm drawing a blank) have all done covers on various Ramones songs. While i can not think of one band doing a cover on a Sex Pistols song (correct me if i'm wrong). Therefore, since the musicians and I favor the Ramones, they are superior.

Besides the fact you need to learn how to spell coherently to make a believable point, if you are going to attempt an elitist attitude learn what your actually talking about. The Clash is basically equal to the Ramones and Sex Pistols in terms of mainstreamness. What about the Ramones is not music to you? Is it the instruments or the singing?

I wouldn't be too excited if any of the songs i wrote got covered by those bands.

Sex pistols.
Really don't care if Sid Could not play.
Don't Care about Malcom Mclaren.
Ramones bore me.
And every one seems to have a ramones shirt, if you are going to bring about fanboys.

But if you want a real good punk band...look at the damned.

The Ramones wrote shitty pop? I wouldn't consider them remotely shitty. Is it because the music is too simple for your highly complex brain or because you think you'll look more elitist if you hate on the ramones that you dislike them?

The Ramones are one of the greatest bands ever, aside from being arguably the most influential punk band ever, their music was fantastic. Joey is one of the greatest vocalists ever, and they were all fantastic punk musicians. I don't see how you could consider Blitzkrieg Bop a pop song, thats as punk as it gets.

End Of The Century also took way more Balls to do then anything the Damned did.

Stooges = more agressive,a nd more punk than the ramones, and the stooges were not even punk.
