Sex Pistols vs. Ramones (punk, The Ramones, tunes, tracks, quote)

I'm actually a fan of both the Ramones and the Sex Pistols, but I thought about it and for me the Ramones were a better band, while the Sex Pistols paved the way for Punk the breadth of the Ramones career was so much longer and filled with some amazing quirky yet kickass music. Plus I have to give props to any band that can laugh at themselves and make a movie like Rock and Roll High School which was soooooo bad it was good.

I agree djxio, I like the music of the ramones better, but the pistols were just pure, uncensored punk. Their attitude was much more appealing to me. I still vote ramones though.

But the pistols made HUGE contributions to punk in their short time together.

Always the first consideration when judging your punk bands,are they nice?

NO, I meant the attitude that the Sex Pistols had was more appealing, I liked the Ramones music better. So I voted ramones. Had nothing to do with etiquette let me assure you.

I don't think the question here is whether they were "nicer" plus what exactly does that mean? Who said they were "nice"? Does quirky and able to laugh at themselves =nice? not the last time I checked.
I thought this was simply a poll on which you preffered. Musical taste is subjective obviously so there are no right or wrong answers it is just a poll anyhow. I was pointing out how the length of their career compared to the pistols is remarkably greater and I find more there that I enjoy. Although Sid's version of Sinatra's "My way" is not to be overlooked.
