I personally do like all 3 sub-genres for various reasons & I do like Sex Pistols as well as the Ramones. I just prefer the Ramones...

I have no problem with the other 70's US punk bands from the New York scene like Television,Dead Boys, etc... and I do like hardcore Black Flag, Minor Threat, DRI...etc.

I wouldn't say people hate the Sex Pistols so much as I would say you constantly going on about them being the greatest band ever is getting annoying and peoples indifference/sort of like to them has more grown to being annoyed by them.

None of us run around saying the Sex Pistols in threads where it isn't relevant or claim they're the greatest and most influential band ever.

You claimed they were responsible for britpop, every UK punk band, thrash metal, 90s alternative rock and hardcore.

lolz i think you take everything i say too seriously. NO they weren't responsible for those genres but most of the important bands from those genres have cited them as an influence.
