Nirvana opened up Punk to so many more people, and made Punk loved by a new era of people, like The Pixies did also. I'm not trying to sound like a know it all. I just hate when Punk fans start b*tching about Nirvana. Sure, you may not like them, but the fact is-they sure put Punk back on the map. And when you say they are Grunge-Kurt Cobain hated the term Grunge. In fact, he thought Grunge sucked. People kept on interviewing him and asking him how he felt to be labelled as Grunge, and he would flip out and talk about how they are Punk. In my eyes, they will never be Punk. And some kids on the internet will never change that.

And kashmir, we know that cobain absolutely despised being labeled as grunge, the rest of the world defines their music by the term "grunge", and they just don't fit in to the rest of the world's definition of punk. And I can't believe I'm about to do this, but i'm going to compare it to simple plan (*shudders at mention of that band*). No matter how many times they insist that they are a punk band, it doesnt change the fact that they're just another boy-band and always will be.

punk is not dead, but the change in its tone is drastic enough for some to believe so...

ramones, pistols, clash, misfits, hell even the kennedys and the later bands... they had a certain spirit, because most people hated em... now we've got our moms listening to greenday, and everyone hating sean desman... whats the world coming to?!?!
