I've always liked Op Ivy, although I dont listen to them much anymore. Personally just kinda tired of hearing their songs, I used to listen to them nonstop when I was younger. Artifical Life, Vulnerability, Here We Go Again- that's the good stuff.

It was Jesse, the lead singer, that didnt like the fact that they were getting big. Tim Armstrong ("Lint") did back up vocals and guitar (he sings on Bad Town), Matt Freeman played bass- those were the two that went on to form Rancid. Funny story is that they were looking for a second guitarist, and Billie Joe turned them down. They ended up with Lars who was in UK Subs. That turned out well obviously. I'm surprised you didnt know that though. Either way, Rancid's built up a name on its own, without the connection, plus both bands were quite different.
