Punk is supposed to be on the other end of the spectrum from prog right?
Well imagine the opposite of Marillion in terms of punk.
His music was about the stage antics and ferocity, and if you like that then you'll like G.G Allin for his style. Nobody actually likes Allin's music, unless they're as twisted as he was.

If he would have lost the poop throwing act and written some decent stuff he could have been one of the greats and left behind a great punk rock legacy. As of now his legacy is just kind of... gross.
