Default The Menzingers

One of my favourite punk bands of the last 10 years. They've mellowed out a bit as their career has progressed, but they've got a sort of loud, passionate folk-punk sound, heavy on the vocal harmonies, with vocals that remind me of The Clash. Their latest album, On The Impossible Past, is pretty awesome, but Chamberlain Waits is their best.

Great band dude. I really like Chamberlain Waits as well. Haven't heard their latest, but, I do really like them. Two of them were initially members of Bob and the Sagets, the one ska band I actually like.

Oh well. Good band.

Good, it's not officially released yet.

But it's pretty awesome. A lot more mellow than either of their past two records but it has grown on me a lot. "Casey" is one of my favourite songs of this year so far.

Their new record 'On The Impossible Past' is ****ing brilliant, and by far my favourite release of the year thus far.
It's hard to pick a favourite track, but The Obituaries and Gates are definitely up there.

"Casey", "Good Things", and "Burn After Writing" are easily my favourites. I agree, the album is brillaint, it's grown on me a lot since I first heard it. Probably my third or fourth fav of the year so far.

They've come a long way since Bob & the Sagets. So far, i don't think it's better than Chamberlain Waits.

Freedom Bridge
Sculptors and Vandals
Casey

4.5/5 - a lot of 4 star after one listen. That could change

Not as good, IMO. it appears they are trying to get laid by a major label. Just a thought. Definitely, a bit different sounding. Maybe it's one that grows on you. One time through is not really a fair judgment.

I don't think this is true at all, they only recently signed to Epitaph Records (having previously been on the smaller Red Scare Industries) for "On The Impossible Past" on the strength of their first two full-lengths. The latest is more mellow than the first two, but they definitely haven't castrated their sound in search of a major label deal. They're still tastefully rough around the edges (as shown by "Good Things") in that independent everyman punk rock way, so I think it's a safe bet that they won't be leaving Epitaph for quite some time.

I was kind of joking, but, i do think they will get signed. i think they are experimenting, as all good bands do. Their sound has been evolving/changing from the start, so, i still haven't given it a second go around. Many albums grow on you. Not the same genre, but, REM went through many changes, and, each effort they put forth was different, and, many of the lp's had to grow on me, so, i will listen to it again today

But, i just found out that Chuck Ragan had a new one, and, it is a really good record. i've been listening to it, but, i'll let you know how the record sounds the second time

But, who gives a sh*t?

Saw these guys with the Bouncing Souls on their last tour. Such a great show with two amazing bands. We actually got to sit down and interview the Bouncing Souls which was amazing.
