major punk influences (alternative, iggy pop, The Ramones, sex pistols, exploited)

I picked Green Day because they've just contributed so much to the punk scene that words can't even describe......

Other than that my influences are..The Sex Pistols, The Clash, The Ramones, The Dead Kennedys, The Exploited, The Germs, Black Flag, The Circle Jerks, and Minor Threat.

i dont know a whole lot about punk but from what i gather, the misfits popularized shocking lyrics, so they had a definite influence.

Wtf........ anyways the band that most influenced em into real punk is definitely The Dead Kennedys....... I agree though that the furture will be influenced by bands like The Casualties.

exactly. the punk of today was influenced by yesterday's bands, and tomorrow will be influenced by today's.
