Yeah man.
I mean, I'm not trying to dis you but that's a fancy way of saying a part of you believes in it. We both know it's a dead end stupid thing to believe but one thing I think we have in common is we both put our love for music in front of any political or social issue. You don't express things the same way I do but you trust the beauty of the art far more than any ideology or opposition to any ideology. One of the things you said in the initial post is you can understand the lyrics. Not relate to but simply make out the words. Just yesterday I was listening to Black Flag and I noticed the same thing. Politics aside the bands you linked to have a lot in common with Black Flag. The sound and some kind of message, whatever it is. With that Nazi **** there's no way your morals are going to outweigh the kick you get riding along. Back to it's fun. And look, beliefs are way more complex and fluid than we make them out to be. And like in my case, with Prussian Blue, it's almost like a willingness to suspend disbelief because the asthetic pull is so strong. The whole phenomenon is like you said "hypnotically weird". And everything about it is dirty. The message. The mother. Me getting a kick out of it. Hating it is bad. Liking it is bad. And then at the core of it they're little kids. Of course they want the whole thing forgotten. They've long since moved on. But unfortunately for them they hit the spot so well they're stuck with it. There's a weird subset of people who won't let it go.

Well I can safely say Skrewdriver's never gonna make me hate black people so I'm good on that front. But yeah there's definitely a pull there, just like how any main character in a book you read you're gonna kind of root for them simply because they're the one you're viewing the story from. And that rabid conviction they bring makes you listen even if you're not really paying too much attention. Now all of a sudden your world's just a little more twisted and it kind of snuck up on you.

NSBM is just as ****ty for the most part, but it's not even as fun cause you can't hear what they're saying. What's the point of listening to Nazi music when you can't even tell it's Nazi music? Absurd are pretty awesome though, as are Grand Belial's Key.
