i can see them being confused with hardcore, actually. but emo/ country? thats pretty odd.

damaged is a hardcore album, some stuff before that you could say is straight up punk music. i love everything black flag have put out though, even when they supposedly went 'metal'. they're one of my favorite bands.

Black Flag are a great band. I perfer the My War onward era, Ginn knew his ****.

hardcore runs from punk... but you listen to misfits, or black flag (which still are a bit different) and listen to NOFX, and or brand new.... tell me they sound the same

well considering the big fight me and bill had about wether or not black flag are hardcore.. he says they are.. and as for the misfits they also have lots of hardcore songs.. i'm pretty sure even a album or two... and they also have a lot of catchy stuff aswell

and are you a brand new fan? yes you are i do believe...

how are they punk? i have no clue ask almost all brand new, taking back sunday, fans if there punk... cause they are... just like hardcore is punk.. the spot brand new falls under in punk is just another run off of the tree of punk.

Brand New and Taking Back Sunday are pop-rock bands, brand new especially isn't punk. I don't know how anyone whos heard Deja Entendu and the Fight Off Your Demons demos would say that. They've definetly changed sound for the better and have strayed really far from being similar to Takinbg Back Sunday and half the fans who consider TBS/Brand New punk also consider the used screamo and my chemical romance emo.


I find it really weird you'd consider some of the misfits stuff hardcore yet black flag punk. Which Misfits stuff is hardcore?
