Brand New and Taking back Sunday are punk bands.. just because they don't sound like the Used, or NOFX doesn't mean there not punk. Yes they have a very pop/rock sound.. but they fall under pop-punk and punk-rock.

Earth A.D./ Wolfsblood (1983) - misfits
that is there hardcore album... compared to the rest of there stuff this album is pretty hardcore.

I know, i just misread what Moses said.

The only genre i have been totally negative about on MB is hair metal, and thats only because i consider it to be more of a big makeup party than an actual genre.

But i agree with both of you to some extent, punk has many sub-genres, Black Flag could fall into several categorys (Hardcore being one of them) but there isn't a right or wrong category.... Genres are completely subjective, you try telling me what category The Beatles really belong to, and dont tell me it's pop either, their last 7 albums were far from pop.
