Awesome band. Jones = my favorite he had great pop sensibility but Strummers cool.

yeah the first album rules. and of course you have to love london calling.

should i stay or should i go is one of those songs that everybody knows, its such a classic

What I liked about The Clash the most was the way took from reggae, fused it with their style of punk and then made it their own. White guys making music with a black sound... instead of white guys trying to sound black...there's a big difference.They got it the right way round instead of just sounding like white rastas. The Clash are unique.

...except for elvis, who also did the 'white guy making music with a black sound' thing lol. but hey, this is a clash thread, and yep they certainly did that. clever boys! (that sounded very sarky, but that wasnt the intention...meh)

I dislike them, white riot is a great song though. Prefer Joe Strummer and the Mesclaro's(can't spell it).
