Default What makes you like rap and hip-hop?

I half like it. I just like the deep and rythmetic beat it produces. I like loud beats, and it has that. What I dont like is the lyrics lol. So this kind of stuff I think sound good without any lyrics.. but I have heard it with lyrics and it sounded good also.

Personally rap music needs good lyrics for me to like it. Groups like A Tribe Called Quest have good lyrics that make them one of my favourite groups. Same goes for the likes of Public Enemy and Eric B. & Rakim.

There are many, many good rap artists since 1990. You would be missing out on the likes of A Tribe Called Quest, Dr Octagon and Deltron 3030 to name 3 from many.

I have tried these and don't care for them. Most rap I like is pre 1990 with the exception of Necro, sorry fella's that's just what makes my pickle squirt. Public Enemy and the Beastie Boys were best pre-1990 as well

Sometime I like the lyrics and the vocal hooks. The beats and the other parts of the arrangement in recent hip-hop is what I really like though. Old rap/hip-hop had good lyrics and generally better use of different vocal ideas, but the music behind it was pretty ****ty cheese a lot of the time. Certainly not sexy-ass like it is nowadays
