Gang Starr's awesome, yeah. Definitely The Roots. Jurassic 5 and A Tribe Called Quest as well.

one of the only rappers i respect as of today.

Gang Starr is amazing
you would check out the Jazzamatazz recordings,
they were both hosted by Guru and feature songs by him.

Guru was active in the early 90's and way ahead of his time. Vol 4 is around now?

I've only listened to Vol. 1 & 2, and both were fantastic.
