New rap has it's purpose in clubs but the real problem with rap is not that this pop rap exists but that there's no competition from other topics in rap. Everything has almost become exclusively club based on the radio.

New rap doesn't all suck, primarily it's the mainstream neo-rap that sucks ('cept for Nas of course). You just have to look harder to find the real talent than you did back in 1996.
