He's coming to my school's annual music festival.. should I be excited?

Phzed 05-03-2011 03:09 PM

Not too bothered about Kweli

Going seeing him live next week with Mos Def, De La Soul and Rakim, can't wait.

YES.

I've heard his new album is really good, but haven't listened to it yet. What do you guys think?

He's ok, but he's only released 2 albums that are really worth mentioning: Black Star and Liberation. It seems to me that he does his best when he is working off others. His new album is alright too, but it's not spectacular or anything.

OMFG, I'm jealous. The best part of that line up is Rakim.

I really loved his new album but when I first listened to it. I felt like it had a mixtape type feel. The more I listened to it , I grew to appreciate it more.

Blackstar is pretty much greatness but his solo albums aren't to be overlooked.

I disagree with what Abearmauledme said earlier.

If you haven't heard Quality yet then you need to. I can still listen to that album from start to finish and I enjoy a majority of the tracks. The real standouts on that album though is Gun Music, Get By and Guerrilla Monsoon Rap.

Whenever I listen to Beautiful Struggle, I usually skip around and only listen to about 6 tracks specifically.

I just didn't really get into Ear Drum so you'd have to hear from someone else what they think of it. There was only two tracks on that album that I liked to play over and over.

Worst thing is, De La Soul & Rakim are the supporting acts.
