Default Childish Gambino

culdesac

You can download/listen to his debut album in that link. It's probably the best hip-hop album I've ever heard.

You probably all know him as the black guy in Derrick Comedy, a writer for 30 Rock, or Troy on the NBC show Community, Donald Glover. He's been releasing mixtapes under this name for a while now and now he's made a full-length. A lot of it references his career but it's still enjoyable even if you're not a fan. Produced the album himself and the beats are SICK. Cannot recommend this enough.

Yeah I wouldn't say he's revolutionary but he has some really witty lyrics.

Anyway, dispite having really good lyrics and awesome hooks, I don't think he'll go mainstream.
Being a comedian+being a mucisian=Eddie Murphy
Its a shame, he's good.

I tried this album out yesterday but it just didn't click with me. I don't know what went wrong because the person who sent me the album said the exact same things as you guys are saying, but it just didn't work. I know it wasn't his voice because I listen to mc chris on frequently enough and I know it wasn't his beats because I did rather enjoy them.

New EP is out (just called EP). I think as a unit it's more solid than Culdesac was. It seems like he's finding his voice.

"took the "g" out of your waffle now all you got is your ego" was cute.

Still too much of a punchline rapper without much distinction from the rest, but he's definitely getting better, or at least funner to listen to.

Him and thom yorke should do a music video togethor.

I just looked up some of his comedy, he's pretty funny. If he could find some way to combine all his stuff it would be crazy cool

I have been playing the hell out of this EP lately.

my favorite is this song

the order that I play it is that song then

freaks and geeks
be alone
my shine
not going back

I also really like the beats as well. I need to look into more of his work and see how it sounds. On "Be Alone" he surprised the hell out of me because I didn't know he had such a great singing voice.

as far as his comedy goes

this vid has always been my favorite
