p.s. i agree that rock and metal are separate things and should have separate forums but i haven't really noticed that many metal threads....or have i?

I don't avoid them because they exist for a reason. I just write it out to stay in obvious accordance with the rules and I don't want them to undermind my overall point (or in this case anger).

There are metal posts "whats your favorite melodic metal band" is one on the front pages right now. But one of the reasons for suggesting this is because there are massive amount of subgenres, I don't know what black metal is, I don't care what death metal is, and I'll bet money if I did know, that they'd be so close and infuritaingly overlap that I would just put down metal forever.

or you could just be lazy.....they ARE undermying your overall point bacause they are distracting, when swear words are not censored they appear toned down, asterixs just announciate them...

Well, seperating things by genre gets confusing, you said that yourself, maybe we should just take the metal out of the title but include metal related threads anyway, after all, metal is a type of rock, but then again so is punk, and punk has its own forum, so i see where you are coming from in some respects, but deviding the 2 can get complicated, especialy bands whose genre is debated, people would start arguing about weither or not Guns N Roses is metal, or if Van Halen and Led Zeppelin are metal.

and about your logic, do we give old rock, or alt. rock or soft rock or hard rock their own sub forum? no. therefore metal and rock and all their bastard step-children will be welcome.

And while I respect te opinons of the majority, and won't mention it again (this will be my last post here) I think some of the arguments were half assed. I mean to go back to what boo boo said or even to the first page, maybe three percent of the people will try to say VH, LZ, or GD are metal.

If I hear that "houses of the holy was rated best metal CD ever by NME" again im gunna scream. First of all NME is a hellspawn of the jackles in the brit press. What was once, is no longer.

This isn't me damning your opinon, this is my opinion of the responces. Again, this will be the last I write in this thread for the intrest of moving on. (Even if im rpped a new one here tomorrow morning.)
