I think metal should have it's own forum as there are so many sub-genres of metal, as with sub-genres of rock, in my mind it makes sense. But then again half the time this forum is so dead.
Half the time the only bands ever mentioned on this forum are metal bands, which gets annoying as hell, thats why i support the split, theirs more to rock than metal.

The only problem i see coming from it would be silly debates over which bands are metal, but thats it.
