Whats up with all these bands and their mega crap guitarists. I can forgive nirvana because their songs were effective. I saw a few mainstream songs on tv (emo of course these days) and the songs sound like absoulute crap, like they're running out of ideas for powerchord riffs from over using them.

Music today is marketed, and it's being whored out to all the people who are so willing to accept mediocrity because it's easy. Most of the mainstream fans don't care for the musicianship, so long as, and I quote my dad and half my family, "It's got a good beat and I can understand the words." Some bands take advantage of society's ignorance and play simple riffs with pseudo-lyrics that people find "deep and intellectual" and make millions off of them.

SO if you're ever in a period of unemployment, gather 3 other guys who have partial experience with their instruments, write songs about wanting to kill yourself because your toaster burnt your past piece of toast, record it, and then send it to some big record conglomerate. Sure, you'll be selling your soul and every shred of dignity you have, but who cares? YOU'LL BE RICH!

I don't like their music, but I'd bang Amy Lee.

Too much hate for plus size chicks.

You need to get out more, because that has been the case for over 250 years.

This man speaks the truth. Why do you think glam metal was invented.

I can't. They ripped off the Melvins.

Why do you think Rock N Roll was invented?

Image has played a major role in music marketing since the 19th century... What do punk, metal, hip hop, reggae, funk, psychedelic rock, techno and grunge have in common? They all came with a fashion trend, hell even jazz had an image factor, it's nothing new at all, stop protending like it was all about the music until Nirvana came along, people like you really piss me off.

They took influences from Yes, but it was not enough to be a rip-off IMO.

Umm I never said that. In fact my glam metal statement was not even towards you. You must think you are the only one around here that hates mainstream music, well guess what, you aren't. Though I do not a have so much major bias on mainstream music that I will not give it a chance, but the music I listen to must come with some talent or I won't listen to it.
