Carey is by far the most overrated drummer of all time. My favourite drummer always changes. Being a drummer for almost 20 years now, I never really had a clear favourite. I like Portnoy but he doesn't amaze me as much as Henry Ranta. I think Ranta has to be my favourite ever drummer. His work on The Chainheart Machine is unmatchable. He combines insanely fast blast beats with sheer beauty and has the best fills I've ever heard in all of rock. I'm guessing we're not allowed to talk about jazz drummers here...
